This weeks lockdown work

Hello bloggers!! This weeks work was a bit different now that were going back to school. So here's what we have to do for school work at our school...

For people who dont come to school does the school work that has been put up on the site, and for the people that comes to school, doesn't do the school work on the site because they will do something else.

We also have work books we have to work on from home like our new homework book. There's a homework book, a science book,  and more. We also have passports (Not real passports) that updates us on what we've learnt in the past, then we cut out these pieces of paper and glue them on a box showing us where to glue it.

So basically we do the work in our work books when were not at school and when were at school we do something different. Anyway, This weeks lockdown work was great. Have you ever played Blooket?

Well, Blooket is a game where you answer questions about animals, the past, and it's kind of like a game about recounts. There are two game modes, one Gold quest, and Crypto.

When you get a question right in Gold quest, there are 3 chest and you have to pick one. There's, Double gold, Triple gold, 10 - 50 gold, -15% - -50%, Take 15% - Take 50%, and the best one is, Swap. Swap is when you swap your gold with whoever you choose.

When you get a question right in Crypto, there will be 3 green locks in front of you and again, you only get to pick one. and it's similar to the gold quest except its crypto instead of gold. And instead of swap it's Hack. Hack is when you have to guess what the password is for a specific person, but you don't get to pick, because it does it for you. There's also a play factory in blooket.

That was all for today's blog, if you wanna check out blooket click on THIS link (click on THIS link to sign up) and enjoy!

Thank you for reading my blog! Stay safe, stay well and blog you later!

My narrative writing

Hello bloggers! Today I will be sharing my narrative writing with you. My narrative writing slideshow is going to be a little similar to the fables I shared with you all last time. So first we had to create an animal using switchzoo.com. The animal I created was mixed with a spider monkey, a cheetah, and a werewolf. We also had to give our creatures a name so I named my creature, Mr.Beast. I chose this name because I thought it would fit the beast and it did! If you would like to read how I created my narrative writing and the final product click on THIS LINK that will take you to the writing slideshow.

Thank you for reading my blog and slideshow. Stay safe, stay well, and blog you later!!

What I know about fables part 3

Hello bloggers! Today is the second to last part of, "What I know about fables".

You will be reading a story called, "The 3 billy goats graph" I will be also showing you the settings in the same time....

First paragraph: (Introduction of characters and setting)

Once upon a time there were 3 billy goats graph. The 3 goats were all brothers, they were happily eating grass until…. “Brother, there is no more grass!” said the youngest billy goat. “Hey look over there on the other side of the bridge!” replied the middle billy goat. “Let’s cross the bridge.” said the eldest billy goat.

Second paragraph: (Main story)

First went to the youngest billy goat… “Who is that crossing my bridge?” The youngest goat was confused until he looked up at the huge troll, the troll asked if he could eat the him, but the billy goat said that there was another goat coming that was bigger than him so they agreed on it. The middle billy goat came across the troll too. The troll asked the middle goat the same question but he replied with, “Sorry but as you can see I barely have any meat at all. There is going to be a very big goat though, with heaps of meat to eat!” and so the troll agreed immediately.

Third paragraph: (takeaways, moral lesson)

The eldest billy goat crossed  the bridge with really loud creaks under his hooves. “Who’s crossing my bridge?!” shouted the troll. “It is I, the biggest billy goat graph!” replied the eldest billy goat with confidence and pride. “Mmmm, you look delicious. May I, eat you?!” questioned the troll. “No you may not!” and all of a sudden… BANG!!! THE TROLL WENT FLYING IN THE AIR AND FELL IN THE WATER!! The troll drifted away and all the billy goat graphs ate happily ever after. THE END. The moral lesson of this story was, “Never throw away what you already have.”.

This was just a draft, so the next blog I post will be the last part of what I know about fables. This blog was short but I hope you enjoyed reading the story. Stay safe, stay well, and blog you later!

What I know about fables part 2

Hello again bloggers, and welcome back to what I know about fables, part 2!! Today I had to explain how a fables is used. And now I will tell you. The blogs I will be posting until Friday will be a little short.

Anyway lets jump right into the subject. So first is how to I should plan to teach the moral lesson, so first I would introduce the characters in the story and where it takes place, than add in the main story where I have to describe what happens in a big paragraph, and for the final conclusion I would round the story up and teach the reader what the moral of the story is, and explain it.

For example the movie, "Over The Hedge". The moral of the that movie was, don't be greedy. Some of you may not understand because you haven't seen the movie yet, but you can watch it on Netflix, but it's still not out yet for some reason. Anyway I hope you enjoyed this short blog, stay safe, stay well, and blog you later!!

What I know about fables

Hello bloggers! Today I will be blogging about fables. Some of you won't know what a fable is and some of you will. So today I will be talking about how much I know and have learnt about fables. I will also be blogging for this whole week, Tuesday - Friday. So basically I will be updating you on what I've learnt about fables. For example the story of, "The Tortoise and the Hare".

So basically fables mean, that a short story has a setting (start, middle, and end, and also has a moral to it), and also that the animals in that short story has the characteristics of a human such as, talking, walking, running, and all that. In this story you could see that the moral in the story was to take things slow and steady, otherwise you won't finish. Well I hope you've learnt something new from this blog, remember I will be updating you on what I've learnt about fables. Stay safe, and well! Blog you later!

My favourite work pieces of work in term 3

Kia Ora bloggers. Today I'm going to talk about My favourite piece(s) of work. OK so my first favorite pice of work would probably be the trick shot. So first of all I could do any trick shot, and my trick shot was to shoot the ball form outside in the trampoline into the white bucket inside the house, but that didn't happen instead of just shooting it past the doors and into the bucket, it bounced of the side of the door, into the kitchen and bounced off the chair and into the bucket! Here's the clip....
(if the link on the image doesn't work, click on this link).

Did you think that was cool? Yeah, so did I. Anyway, I also wanted to show this piece of work I also did in term 3. The piece of work that i'm about to show you is about covid, and I wrote a poem about it so here it is.....
(if the link on the image doesn't work, click on this link). I hope you enjoyed that poem and that trick shot, If you want to see more of my term 3 work you can click on the image below.....

Rugby prize giving

HELLO BLOGGERS!! Today i'm here to talk about me and my little brother's rugby prize giving. I have to apologize first if I sound like that I'm bragging too much about myself but for real I am over excited, so lets get right into it! OK so first of all, it was obvious that we couldn't go to the original place where we do the prize giving ceremony because of covid and lockdown, so we had to do it all internet on zoom meetings. And because there are lots of teams of juniors in our Rugby Club, they have to but the zoom meetings into groups. The first awards ceremony were for 9 years old and under, which was my little brother in that carter-gory as he is 6 years old. His team is Under 6 Eden Tigers.

You might be wondering what my brother got. he got the title, "BEST SPORTSMAN OF THE YEAR" And we were all surprised. My parents told me, "Can you beat that?" First was the best tackler of the year (which wasn't me), then the best sportsman of the year, (which wasn't me again), and it was all down to the best player of the year, everything was silent, until.......

"BEST PLAYER OF THE YEAR" "ROS-ALAN UEPI"

My parents cheered and was very proud of me and my little brother. And then we went to celebrate. Well that's how it went and, now I really want to play some more rugby, but I don't think I can due to the lockdown. Some say that the lockdown might even extend to Christmas, or even next year!!

ABOUT COVID

But really, why can't covid just leave us alone, because to be honest, covid just gets stronger by the day. 43 cases in like a week or 2. The only way to stop it is by wearing masks, washing your hands (sanitize to), keep distance, and stay in our homes until we are given the all clear. We can unite against covid and finally put an end to this nightmare. So all we can do now is stay inside our homes (but you can still go on walks to keep healthy). Just remember to give a smile and believe in yourself and others that you can do this and fight against covid, because we haven't lost all hope YET.

Well this is all. I hope you all stay safe. Blog you later!

Lockdown has finally come to an end!

Hello bloggers! Today is Friday the 1st of October (or at least this is when I publish), and i'm relieved because lockdown is finally coming to an end. In about 2 - 3 weeks we'll all see each other again but there will still be some rules like, keeping distance, and always sanitize your hands/wash your hands. During the lockdown we all spent time with our family which was good. We were more creative with our surroundings and devices. Some might've created something new without even noticing, who knows? But anyway, next week is going to be school holidays for 2 weeks and lets hope that, the corona-virus will finally leave us alone and there would be no more cases! You've all done really well staying inside your homes for 7 weeks! I hope to see all my friends back at school in level 2 for the first time after 7 - 8 weeks of lockdown.

The moral of this blog was just to check up on everyone through lockdown so I wont be writing that much but I hope this will help you or at least cheer you up a bit. Thank you for reading my short blog, I hope you all stay safe during the school holidays. Blog you later!

The Friday dress up

Kia Ora bloggers!! This Friday the 24th of September, Te Waka Ako dressed up for this Friday's meet. We had to dress up starting with a "L". I  dressed up as a label and my sister dressed up as a leaf. Our dad helped me and my sister make our costumes. For my sister's costume we used, cardboard leaves, and sewed it to her clothes. For my costume (I just needed a mask and a hat) we used, a mask, cardboard paper, and coloring pencils. I wrote all the words in color then my dad stuck them on the hat and mask using tape and a pin. If you want to see some of your costumes please click on this link.

Thank you for reading my blog. I hope you enjoyed it. Stay safe, and i'll blog you later!

Tongan language week

Malo e lelei bloggers! Welcome to this years 2021 Tongan language week To start off, the theme of this weeks Tongan language week is,
"Faka Koloa 'o Aotearoa 'aki 'ae AKO lelei" (Enriching Aotearoa with holistic education).
The key word is AKO educations.
The first school for a Tongan child is home of course. In the early child hood of a Tongan child the first class room is called, "KALILOA": KALI refers for a piece of wood that had been carved and smoothed to a shape of a little stool just high enough to use as a pillow. And that's where the Kaliloa came from. Kaliloa is the arm of your Mother mostly can be your Father and sometimes the Grandparents.
Kali Hahapo traditionnal Tonga Island headrest - Oct 29, 2017 | Origine Auction in France
Back in the days, Tongans didn't know how to write, the history was passed from generation to generations by stories, that's why before bed time the child would be laying down onto the Kaliloa (Mum or Dad's arm) and the parent will tell stories about where you come from, your family, your heritage, what runs in the family, what your allowed to do, and what is TAPU, or not allowed to do, and where you go to whe you look for food when your hungry, and where you taking your first fruit to on the harvest time. Normally your mothers family her brothers is your fa'etangata or MotherMan called, uncle there houses are the houses you go to look for food in and the houses of your Mehikitanga your fathers sisters is where you take your fist fruit to. And also they start teaching "The 4 Golden Pillars" Which holds the main principals of the Tongan culture.
a) Faka'apa'apa (Respect). Faka'apa'apa between brothers and sisters. It's a Tapu for brother to go near where the sisters are associated, or socializing, or sleeping area, or sisters to go to where the brothers are associated, or socializing, or sleeping area.

b) Tauhi vaha'a or va (Reciprocation). Women held the highest rank in the Tongan extended family Nofo 'a kainga. The eldest sister of the father or the eldest Mehikitanga (eldest auntie) is known as the Fahu the most repectful rank in the kainga. When the father harvest his first plantations or animals, the first inasi which is the best of his fruit or crops, he will send it to his Mehikitanga or his eldest sister. When the his Mehikitanga or the Mehikitanga of his children received his gift they will prepare some mat or tapa clothes, and send it back to his wife (if he's married or just for him if he's not) as a piece of new clothes, "Pulu'pulu" which is like a cape or a new blanket or clothes, just to show their apretiation of the gift they received.

c) Mamahi'i Me'a/Mateaki'i (Patriotism). As one of the Tongan moto is, "Tonga mo'unga ki he loto"
(The Tongans mountain is their heart) It's a very poor island, mostly people live from their own plantation and from the ocean if the people want to do something for their nobles, or their king, or the church or anything in the community, they will go for extra miles until the job is done with not a single penny being asked for.

d) Loto To (Humble).  Tonga knows who there King is, they know who there noble is, they know there Fahu and 'Ulumotu'a he is the eldest man in the kainga 'o famili. When you appear infront of the king or the noble of your village no matter how big your crops are or how successful you are, you still refer to them as a Me'avale, or kainanga 'oe fonua (common person or lower in the society rank). In the funeral the Liongi are the maternal sides or the mothers familiy sides of the death including the children will wear a huge ta'uvala (mat) that will cover them up to their head. And their roles in the funeral is the kitchen to cook food for the people while the paternal side or father's family side of the death which is the Mehikitanga of the dad is the Fahu that will sit right in front of the dead person and the 'Ulumotu'a the eldest brother of the dead bodys father are directing and making decisions for everybody what to do, and he normally coordinate with the children of the father.

The next will be church, majority of the Tongans are Christians. And the Sunday school teachers, the Setuata and the Faifekau, and also your parents at home teach you about your religion, they give you the spiritual teaching like from the bible and your belief, and that's your spiritual teachers.

The next will be school teachers at school give you knowledge, like how to read, write, multiply, how to use technology, and gives you all the knowledge you need for the future.

Now the children are growing up he/she is not sleeping on the kaliloa anymore but the AKO is moving up to Faka loto fale (Fofola efala kae talanoa) Now I would say it's complete the 4 golden pillars, Faka'apa'apa (respect), Tauhi vaha'a (reciprocation), Mamahi'i Me'a (Patriotism), and Loto to (humble). Which underpin my Tongan moto of the Tongan shield "'OTUA MO TONGA KO HOKU TOFI'A"
(GOD AND TONGA ARE MY HERITAGE)
                                              TONGA
Now the Kaliloa is done the ministers are done, the teachers are doing their best, i'ts for me and for you Tongans to use all the goods that we pick up from the kaliloa, from church, and from school, put them all together and FAKA KOLOA AOTEAROA with it, ENRICH AOTEAROA with it. Stay safe and happy Tongan language week, BLOG YOU LATER!!

My Paralympic rap about Andrew May

 Andrew May

Andrew is sailing on the sea, growing up with a yachting family.

In the Diamond Harbour in Lyttelton,

the view is great, but the name reminds me of Wellington.

Andrew began sailing in Optimists and P’s then moving into two handed classes.

Damn, look at him go! I’m glad my guy ain't wearing glasses!

He won the Phoenix class National Championships the year before a car accident at the age of 17 that left him as a paraplegic.

Let’s show the man some love and respect, don't call him pathetic!

Spring (Poem)

 SPRING

Loud and thunderous lightning,
how very tremendous and frightening!
Very hard storms, and very bad rains.
Good grief, here we go again.
Such strong rain, and wind,
and now we can't blend!
All of a sudden the sun came out!
Coming out of the grey and blue!
Could it be? Spring is that you?!
The sun glimmering in the sky,
wow it's never shone so bright and high!
Now there's flowers, and daffodils sprouting.
Yay, now there's no more lightening!
Rainbows appearing in the sky,
right before our very eyes.
Spring gives you hope and joy,
takes your mind off from corona, and now,
were just looking forward to having a great season, Oh boy.

Lockdown 2.0 (poem)

DELTA

EVERYBODY! CORONA IS BACK!!!

WHAT?!

Yes it’s back, we’ll go into lockdown again, the virus is now more fierce and strong,

Where did we go wrong?

We can’t seem to fight it back,

It has a name, a name called DELTA.

Well if we stand, and be strong,

We could walk over this virus

And stop all that went wrong.

Be brave, be aware, be smart everywhere,

Corona or not, we still have one more, SHOT.

My reading DLO

Kia Ora bloggers!! Today I will be blogging about my reading DLO. As you know "DLO", it stands for, Digital Learning Object. Now let's jump right into the programme! At first I want to apologize to my teacher in advance. Because what i'm going say is something that I just thought about it totally outside the classroom. Last week we watched our awesome New Zealand team at the Olympics. And I was so amazed about later on that we totally forgot about the nasty epidemic corona virus.

The world was covered by a big stormy cloud that holds the corona virus, people were crying because there father's mother's auntie's uncle's brother's and sister's are dying because of the corona virus. But all of a sudden, there was a bright light shining through the clouds, HERE COMES THE OLYMPICS!!!

Once the Olympics arrived, everyone was cheering on for their country, competing against their strengths, and congratulating each other. Everyone was so happy with the Olympics, we had forgotten all about the virus! Even I forgot about it! Eventually, the Paralympics had finally came. This was all about encouragement, and inspiration because, there are some people swimming with only half of there body, and people playing playing basketball with no legs. You could also click on this link that will take you my reading DLO...

...Did you learn some interesting facts? Because I definitely did! Were you surprised about how much more you've learnt about the timeline of the Olympics? Did you know that the Japanese use cardboard to make beds? It's really good for the environment because then you could recycle the bed! You might be thinking that Japan has heaps of technology, but Japan could also be very environmental.

Well, Tokyo had the burning torch for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics but now, it's France turn to keep the flame going. I hope you've learnt much from the information I've gathered, and I hope you all stay safe in your homes, I also hope to see you later!

What to blog about

Hello bloggers! Today I don't know what to blog about, so i'll just blog about me thinking of what to write on my blog in the holidays. Every time I start a blog in the holidays I don't know what I should blog about. It seemed much harder than it is back at school, because we know what to blog about in 5 days.

At home (in the holidays) when i'm about to start a blog, I would press + NEW POST but before I start i'm always thinking,'What to blog about, what to blog about, what to blog about?' Once I come up with an idea of what to blog I start writing. Eventually I can image what my blog is going to be about, then I start writing freely as if I was full of ideas just waiting to share my ideas with people across the globe.

This blog here is more of something creative. I like being creative, writing stories, drawing some art, making useful tools, and so on. The main thing about this blog is about how I come up with ideas, and thinking, what should I blog about? That's why I created this blog here although i'm not sure if your still reading or not but anyways, whenever i'm blogging at home I sometimes listen to music whilst i'm writing.

When ever i'm listening to music, I don't know how but it helps me focus on writing, then (sometimes) I create a little clip in my head related to the music, I don't know if it's funny, or special but what I do know is what to blog about today.
I enjoy blogging, and being creative. but what I enjoy the most is writing my stories to you fellow bloggers. I hope you all enjoyed your holiday, blog you later!

My winter poem

 The Winter poem

Winter is cold

Winter is bold

Warm clothes, hot drinks

Cold snow, a snowman! WINK!

SNOWBALL FIGHT!

AH! A TERRIBLE FRIGHT!

Dress smart, dress smooth

Dress right in the mood

With your collar shirt and your tie

Your waistcoat, overcoat, gloves and shoes

Moon walking on ice like Michael Jackson! COOL!

If you liked this poem give it a WOOHOO!!

How to write a procedural text

Hello bloggers! Today I will be showing you how to write a procedural text. You have to be very specific, cause you'll end up mucking it up, so be specific and read between your lines. As you read through, you'll notice what I did, if you read carefully.

Step 1. Select a sport, activity, game, or something you would want to teach, for example I did culture games and wanted to teach Aussie rules. Create a new doc then pick some bossy verbs for the start of each step. Pick a title suitable enough for the subject you wanna teach, and write a quick explanation on how to play, or use something.

Step 2. Write a goal on what you want to archive during the process, then write all the equipment you need, now start writing on how to play the game.

Step 3. Pick a game or a activity, then first start off with how many people you need and start writing with how to play or use the activity, Make sure your reading your lines carefully and not just writing step after step without going over it.

Step 4. Now that you've finished, you have to read it out loud, and use you procedural to see if it make sense, this is the best way to do it, to see if you actually told the readers how to do it the right way.

Step 5. Put some diagrams and photograph's in to show the readers the positioning of the equipment, or people. This will help the reader understand what you said.

Thank you for reading my blog, I hope you understand how to make a procedural now, and enjoy writing!  Blog you later!

Student led toolkits

STEM TOOLKITS

GOOGLE MAPS

Friday the 11th of June (Last Friday), we did toolkits based on STEM! If you don't know what STEM stands for, it stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths. And if you don't know what toolkits are, it's a pair of presenters presenting how to use a so call app, or website.

First the teachers picked some people to go to toolkits and present. The first toolkit I went to was Google maps. For that toolkit, I had to set a trip form Waikowhai Primary, to Wellington, to Christchurch and back. You could use any kind of transport to get to your destination, but I'm not sure about taking a plane. Next I went to Incredibox.

INCREDIBOX

If any of you bloggers know what it is, I hope you had a great time making music. Incredibox is place where you can make music, and unlock achievements. In Incredibox, you can make the right tunes, to unlock a short video that will play the sound of your creation, only a bit different.

There are 8 different versions, but the bottom 4 is locked, so the top 4 versions, is all you can make music on. To play with Incredibox, drag the pictures on the bottom of your screen, up to the characters. Once you've done that, your character will make a sound related to the picture to the icon. The third toolkit I went to was Webcam Toy

WEBCAM TOY

In Webcam, you can take pictures with a variety of filters to choose from. You can take pictures with friends, relatives, and others. You can take funny pictures, serious pictures, maybe pictures no one can under stand. You can save and share your photos, you can print it out and put it up on the wall to commemorate a memory.

Webcam Toy is very entertaining, you could add it to your chrome, and then it will be added to your camera! I really enjoyed my time with toolkits, I felt amazing after learning how to use the apps and websites. Blog you later!

Culture games

 Wizards

Wizards is a game from Russia (Fun Fact: Russia, is the biggest country in the world!). A kind lady named Valiya, came in to teach all the leaders and house captains (including me), the game. The game is kind of like freeze tag but a bit different. The game is simple really, you could have 3 wizards, and 5 runners. you would need and even group of kids, and split them into 2. You could have more than 3 wizards and 5 runners, depending on how much space you have. The wizards job is to tag you, then you need to freeze, on the spot, extending your arms and legs like a starfish, while you do that you have to shout, "Chai, chai, chai!" I think the word means help in Russian. If a runner tags you again, you are free to run.

Stream

Stream is also a game form Russia, and requires you to be quick. You can have as many people as you want in the game, just make sure to keep the flow going. For this game you would need an odd amount of people in pairs with there hands in the air like they high fived each other. And there is also one more person at the front, running under all the hands and they have to grab one random arm and the person who got grabbed has to follow the person to the back of the line and put there hands together in the air, and the person who lost their partner, goes to the front and repeat the same thing. The idea is to keep it going like an infinite water source. These games were really enjoyable, blog you later!

Spark Arena

Spark Arena

Today we went to Spark Arena! At Spark Arena, we went into, "Tune forks" Inside tune forks we saw instruments, and pictures of some famous artists. I saw a picture of, Bruno Mars, Ed Sherran, Six60, Taylor-Swift, Imagine Dragons, and some other famous artists.

There were some helpers who had set up some computers that taught us how to play a drum-pad, and a set of drums. We were very lucky for our school to get picked, following by 2 different schools, (Royal rd, and Linking rd.) Suzy Cato told us there are three different places, Happy Place, Sounds Fun, and Van Gogh. We got to go to Happy Place first.

Happy place is a place to have fun and to be happy. In Happy Place is big ball pit that's right up to my chest! The instructed told us (Me, Dev, Ibriham, and Nijel.) to jump on his count but when he said "You guys have to jump-" Ibriham jumped in head first into the ball pit! When we had all jumped in, we were all laughing as the teachers took photos. When Nijel jumped in I  literately couldn't see him! His whole body was inside the pit!

It was really enjoyable, but at the same time, it was hard. I had a hard time getting out, but it was quite funny. Once I got out, I went to this space where heaps of chains were. (If you've ever been there, you'll know what I'm talking about) Eventually, I bumped into myself about 6 times, and it was so confusing. I also scared Naweed (Sorry Naweed.), then I saw a room that was all yellow, and had yellow ducks around the walls with a bathtub in the middle of the room. I didn't want to try it out, because it felt quite creepy for me.

There was also a disco room, and Mason was really busting out some poses. There was also a upside down room. We had to either jump, or act like it was natural. But obviously you would have to jump, we also tried not to  smile to make it look real. Then we had to go back to tune forks, and played some instruments which is called, Sounds Fun.
At Sounds Fun, we played instruments, sang songs, and learned to play some beats.
I came across a drum set, but this was a ordinary drum set, it was an electrical drum set! It looked futuristic, and bright. There was a screen attached to it, telling you when to hit the drum, and when to tap your feet. If you get all green, it means you got a perfect score and you get heaps of stickers. Then I went to the other side of the room, and tried out an instrument, I forgot what it was called, but it felt like I was playing in a marching band. Then we went to Van Gogh.
Van Gogh is basically an art gallery with all, 'Van Gogh's' art in digital. Van Gogh painted heaps of people and flowers. I think it was Martin who said, "The people that Van Gogh painted, is probably all his his friends who died." I agreed with Martin. There were heaps of beautiful flowers, and houses, with some dramatic music in the background. There was also a train, I still don't understand why there was a train, but I think it has something to do with his past. It felt really cool going to Spark Arena, and it was a whole lot of fun. Fitness

First day back at school from the 2 week holiday, we started off with training diary's. First we had to fill in our (The students) names, and emails. Then we had to fill in the address of the school. Eventually we read some of the information the Warriors do for their training.

After we read the information, we went outside to do some fitness. The first fitness we did was the plank. For the plank, the teachers would told us to tuck our T-shirts so they could clearly see if we dropped down. If you don't how to do a plank, you have to lay down on your belly first, then stand up with your toes and elbows, to make it look like a piece of wood laying down. Me and my friend, Dev (Go check out his blog!), stopped at 1 minute, and had forgotten we could do longer than that! LOL!

Next we were doing the burpees. To do a burpee, you have to lay down on the ground as if you were going to do a push up, then get up bending down, and jump, I got 18 in 60 seconds. Then we had to do the 10 metre shuttle.

We had to run 10 metres forward, and run 10 metres backwards, I got 6.8 in 60 seconds. And last but not easiest, THE ENDURANCE RUN!! The endurance run was really hard, but I managed. There are 4 leads, if you do all 4, that is 1 whole lap. The rugby pitch was about 27 metres, and form there  to the climbing frame was about 18 metres, and there back to the post was about 23 metres. (Really stressful huh?) Blog you later!

Anzac day

ANZAC DAY

On Anzac day, we (My family) went to the museum! We saw some clothing from the 40s - 60s, and decided to try them on. The clothing was thick, and a little heavy. Next to it, were some of the very few items they (The soldiers) packed for the war. They would pack it very tidily. They would pack only 1 pair of socks, a shirt, pants, a toothbrush, a comb, soap, and maybe some chocolate, and an underwear. There package is very tight, and small. The reason why they pack so tight, was because they would have to carry their luggage for weeks, maybe even months! One person also carry's the whole communication system, there's a big computer at the back, with a long antenna on top. Their phones were more like, walkie talkies but almost the size of a book! But before all that, was the telegraph. The telegraph was one of the most secret common communication system all the soldiers used in the war. They would also hack into other lines, and hear what the enemy is saying. The telegraph make short beeps, and long beeps for you to code. And if your really careful, you could listen to what the enemy is saying. You could decode the beeps, and find out where there next attack is, and where there weak, and strong spots are. We also saw some medals. The medals looked interesting, and also have a meaning to it. After the war, the general would present all the medals in a medal ceremony, to all the soldiers that went for the extra miles, and did some bravery out in the battle field. War is ugly and violent, war isn't pretty and not a good thing to talk about but, thanks to all the soldiers that fought and to all who died, for fighting for our freedom, and for these lives. Blog you later!

My dad's graduation

🎓MY DAD'S GRADUATION🎓

My dad is 50 years old this year, and he has done his educations days and achieved ok for himself. During the lockdown we spend so much time together at home so he think he could do something, so he enroll himself on a course in bible study with the Trinity Bible College.
On Sunday the 18th of April, he achieved a LTH in theology from the Methodist Trinity College.
The day started very early in the morning. We (My family) have to get up early and get ready for the graduation. We got to the church at Ponsonby Methodist church which they held the graduation ceremony, and try to get a good seat so we can see the whole thing. Boy aren't we were lucky? Because after half an hour or so I turned and look back the whole church was packed and people have to stand outside. But it's ok because there was a marque and a big screen tv already set up next to the church for the over floats.

At first, the band played the song Humaieiki (Into my heart), to lead the students to their seats, then a lady came up to the front, and started calling the students names. The students had to stand up, once their name was called. When it had came to my dad's name, I tried to snap a picture of him. Once the three reverends finished their speeches, they started calling the students names, to come up and receive their book, and stole. I snuck up the front, and tried to snap a few pictures of him, shaking hands with the president of the church.

At the end, all the students gathered up to the front and took a photo, I managed to take heaps of pictures. I felt really proud of my dad, which inspired me to never give up and everything is possible. I hope one day I will graduate to. My dad never gave up on his study, and succeeded.🥳CONGRATULATIONS DAD!🥳 Blog you later!

Trenches/basic facts test under gunfire

On Wednesday I thought it would be a regular day like any other day would, but a kid from the middles named: Boston. Boston ran to me saying, "Hey Ros! Everyone is lining up, looking at the wire in the seniors!" At first I thought he was just using his imagination, but when I said "What on earth is going on?!" They all said "There are strings in the class!" I instantly regret what I thought about what Boston said, even though he said it was wires. (But not the kind that will obliterate you, that would be silly.) When I first saw the teachers, they were wearing black, and I thought they were getting ready to rob a bank! They also had face paint going across their face! Once we went in, the teachers said we had to stay under the strings for six hours! If our head, and arms were above the strings, and the teachers spot it, you would get shot, and lose a point. They also read us stories to write down for us to remember what happened in the wars. When we did our basic facts test, they would put gunfire sounds in the background to distract us. (This was very hard!) I also got two carpet burns on both my knees! This was an experience based on the war.

Earthquake/Tsunami 2021 lockdown

One night, we were all in the lounge, there was a alarm going, "BEEB! BEEB!" It said that there was a earthquake, and that there would be a tsunami. At 4:00am my dad was still awake, he said he felt the ground slightly move, he said he thought it was just his mind playing with him, but he looked at the fish tank and he saw, the water going up and down. If the earthquake had lasted a little longer and stronger, he would wake me, my younger sister, my younger brother, and my baby sister. When we woke up in the morning, our dad told us all about it. When I first learnt about a tsunami, I thought it would happen to us right away! But my dad said that, it wouldn't happen, (Witch was a few years ago) but now it did! It was my first time knowing that a natural disaster had just happened in the morning! New Zealand doesn't really have that much natural disasters, I thought there would be after so much training when I was a year 1! To this year, I find that natural disasters can happen anytime anywhere! Now that i'm aware that a disaster can happen, I think i'm ready. I just wish I could experience an earthquake next time. But luckily there was no tsunami, were all safe now so we won't need to worry about the tsunami anymore. Wish you all the best for 2021! Blog you later, and stay safe!

My holiday with my family

                                   MY BIRTHDAY!

I was born on January 28th 2011, the first month of the year. When it was my birthday my cousin came over for a sleep over at my house, we had lots of fun, we played heaps of games, watched movies like ghost rider, bayblade burst, and more! we even had our own bays! We also named our bays, I named mine Fusion Rockdovor, and my cousin, Tui named his Red Eye. We had great battles! after that, my brother came in my room with phones, he gave it to me and Tui, and said "Happy birthday!" Then I said "Thanks" After a while, my sister came and gave me a hug and also said "Happy birthday!" so I said "Thanks" Again, then we got ready to go to Pt Erins (swimming pool) and got changed to go swimming!

                   Pt Erins

When we got in the pool it was very could, then after a while, it was normal. when we went to the hot tub, it was boiling hot when we took a few steps in, but as soon our bodies were in the hot tub it started getting cooler until, it stopped at a certain temperature, it was nice and warm, me and Tui were just relaxing, and playing around gently, until we got back in the main pool! IT WAS FREEZING COULD! So, we just had to wait until it was normal again. We swam, and swam, me and my cousin, Tui played games to keep us entertained, and  had a great time while it last, we enjoyed our time at the pools. When we took a shower and got changed, we went to game on.

                                 Game on

In game on, there are a lot of fun games to keep you entertained! Me and Tui went to this duo game called, "THE WALKING DEAD" I found it cool, but sometimes the zombies jump-scare me, and Tui! Then we went to mario cart! (mario cart is a racing game that can be played from 1-4 people) It was a blast! I came first place three times! then Tui caught up and got first place two times! Valerie came first place two times, and sione came first on the last round. I started getting worried by the time Tui won,  but I did have fun, after we played mario cart, we went to another racing game, unfortunately me, Tui, and Valerie couldn't play together because we started at different times! Me and Tui came first place! But Valerie came sixth place. Then we played other games and had a great day!
