Dot art

                          Dot art

Today we did dot art, and today's dot art was related to Christmas, we did a Christmas  tree, here is what we had to do.

First, we had to listen to the instructions on the mat.

Second, we had to line up and get 1 pin, 1 peace of coloured paper, (size must be A4 in order to line up with the paper) and of course the dotted paper.

Third, we had to put the A4 sized coloured paper under the dotted paper, and punch holes with the pin into the dots.

Fourth and final, once were done we put our paper on a window and the results should look like a Christmas tree, but light coming through the dots.

Art book

Hello Bloggers!

Today we did something cool,  im sure some of you know what I mean. If you are interested please stay for the information. First we had to go to the website called, celebrating summer. Second, it took us to a register page and it asked very easy questions like, you school name, your name, your home blog page, and all that kind of stuff. Third and final, once we've signed in, it should show you a link, we we'rent supposed to press the link so, we had to go back to the tab we opened before the register tab, and watch a video of an lady telling you the instructions. The instructions were simple, first we had to scroll down to where it says, "kick start" Below the word, you should see links that link to different places, keep on moving your mouse cursor, until it reaches the link Art Book. Then there should be a button that says, launch experiment, when you press it you should see paintings, and pictures. When you click on the pictures, and paintings, it should take you to a colouring page, it will let you colour the picture, or the painting in. I did a painting of water melons. Have a great time playing with the art book! Blog you later!

Bike skills

                                                   Bike Skills

Hello bloggers! This Week, my class (Waitemata) went outside, to meet our bike teachers, (John, and Ella) we had lots of fun learning bike skills, I really enjoyed it and I bet my class mates also enjoyed it. Have you ever ridden a bike before? Because it's always good, to learn new things. You can never learn too much. There could be skills, we don't even know we could do! There are different types of bikes, like a mountain bike. A mountain bike is good for riding on mountains. It has gears, (1 - 8) gear 1 was the gear that made the pedal very easy to pedal, and gear 8, was the gear the made the pedal, hard to pedal, I hope that made sense. We had to choose the gear that was most comfortable, I was comfortable in gear 4, and I had a wonderful time learning bike skills. Thank you for reading my blog, blog you later!

Jasmine and Aladdin

 Hey bloggers,

Have you ever heard the movie Aladdin, well it's still coming out in different countries, talking about the movie Aladdin, we did a production about Aladdin, except there were changes, and the title was Jasmine and Aladdin. The play was about, an evil villain named Omar, Omar wanted the magic lamp that has a genie inside of it, that genie knows who Omar, and Giwizz is, so he try's his best not to serve, but he must do as his owner says. The genie will grant you three wishes, so that Omar will wish for the genie to make Jasmine fall in love with Omar, so he could gain control of the Kingdom of Hasbah, that is why Omar wants the lamp but princess Jasmine did not recognise Omar or his assistant, Giwizz at the beginning but she started to recognise him, when bad things started to happen, luckily, she had friends by her side, there was Aladdin, the Genie, Persia, and Giwizz. Giwizz wanted to help because he would get better job, being a palace guard, so they worked together and had convinced him that only a genie has more power so Omar, jumped in the lamp and became a genie, and the only way to be free is for the owner to use one of his or her wishes to set the genie free.

I also thought the production was successful, at first I was nervous, then when I started playing my flute my emotions started to change from nervous to confident, when I finished my part I felt proud, my parents were also proud of me, and my little brother Sione and sister Valerie, I was also proud of all our effort, and that's why I think it was a success.

Hope you enjoyed reading my blog about our production, Jasmine and Aladdin.

Matariki

If you don't know what Matariki is, it's a sign of the Moari new year, there are seven stars to represent it. We celebrated Matariki by, doing activities. the first activity we did was, stop motion, what I mean by "Stop motion", is that we had to copy a stop motion video related to Matariki, well, kind of, we also got to make up a myth about Matariki to! Some of us didn't quite finish, but the next activity we were doing was designing Moari patterns and colouring it, we only had to use the Moari colours (red, white, black). the last activity we did was making, fried breed!  We even got to eat it at the end! it was delicious.    MATARIKI IS THE BEST!!!

Cross Country

Wow! Hove you done cross country!? Well I did, if you don't know what it is, it's when you have to run around the whole school, well, I had to, and a couple of other students did to! The seniors had to do it two times, and me, well I'm a year 5 so yeah, I'm a senior, we also got to do activities, while we were waiting for our turn to do cross country, I was a little nervous, until I heard voices cheering, I suddenly thought about it so, I went faster, but then I was slowing down a bit coming to the stairs, then I started to pick up the past, in the middle. It was very tiring, but finally, I made it.

Reading (White shoes)

In reading this week we did reading choice board. This was cool and exhausting at the same time. It was also interesting so maybe I'll start off with the interesting part. So, I was reading "White Shoes". I was reading from the beginning and it said, "The city's going to kill you," says Mum. "I'm sending you to live with your grandma." It's for your own good. Just like that. "Goodbye, son, see ya round." These sentences made me want to read the rest of the story.

Then when he got on the bus he said, "Now I'm on a trip to nowhere." But there was kind of a twist. As he arrived, the people were talking in Maori, it's like they didn't want to speak English at all, even though they could. So he got used to the Maori language but he worked all day and woke up at night, as his white shoes were fading. Months later he got, lean and strong, then he said, "It's like I'm in Aotearoa and my old home is New Zealand." You gotta admit it was interesting. I enjoyed reading this book because the boy didn't like working, talking in Maori, and other things, but when he got sent to his grandmas house he got used to it and started to like and felt proud of his culture and that's what I found interesting. Oh and the exhausting part is when I had to answer group question, It was hard because I had to go back and read carefully for the answers. Well, that's that, Blog you later, bloggers!

About Creative Writing

Hello bloggers!

I have done some creative writing in the past, I'm still working on it, but allow me to explain.
Well, creative writing is when you write something creative, something creative about, a picture! If you don't understand, the word creative means, to think outside the box, and of course in other ways. Before you do that, choose a picture (Or think about what you're going to write about). If you have done creative writing, (Or still working on) then please, fell free to leave a comment, down below. So, if you understand, then thank you for listening, but if you still, don't understand, then click this link, to check out my creative writing for a example. Leave a comment for some feedback and ideas for my story.

Post Lockdown Creations Numero Cuatro!

The Post Lockdown Creations Numero Cuatro! was a bit of a challenge, I mean that, it wasn't easy I thought we would just have to take a screenshot, link it, describe it, and reflect. but no it sounds so easy but it isn't. it was something that was made for us to write about the week, the day, and how your activity went. We also did some during the lockdown, well if you know what I mean, then maybe this "blog", is for those people who don't know what I mean. So I hope you know what I mean so this is Ros out.

Lockdown

We did the lockdown diary so in 10 years time we could come back and tell our children about the lockdown, and to remember how it felt. I felt like I was locked in a prison with the most top agents and a tank of sharks, and heaps of lasers to stop me from getting out, (In my imagination) I stayed in and did meetings and did activities. Here is my Lockdown Diary

school online

                                                           "School online"

I woke up at 4:00am,

I went back to sleep.

I woke up at 7:10,

I went to sleep again.

I woke up at 9:00,

I was back on the line.
Chatting with friends,

and teachers online.

If you do not know why,
It's called "school online".

They made a syndicate site,
and I was confused with a fright!

When I checked out the site,
the computer was still loading but the sound,
sounded like, more than fifty people.

At start, was a fright.
 But I started to feel
quite nice.

And again if you still do not know why,
It's called "school online".

My lounge feels like a room that can transform cause on Sunday its a church, on Friday and Thursday its a gym, and on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday its a school.

Activities during lock down

Its been a while since the lock down started, but we've been trying to keep us entertained with some activities like, reading our favourite books, drawing our front yard with an imaginary tree house, learning our time tables, cooking, having a birthday party, practising our music, doing church, playing with lego, solving puzzles with our family, drawing on the white board, playing foot ball in the back yard, and some other stuff. But my four favourite activities are, playing with lego, drawing our back yard with an imaginary tree house, cooking, and playing foot ball in the back yard.
How ever I still miss school and my friends, and I hope everyone is healthy and safe.

LOCK DOWN!

Coming to the second week of the lock down,we get through the first week, and the numbers of people who get sick is still climbing, its on 500 now and my heart is with their families,
We have to keep ourselves  entertain, and educated and don't forget to exercise everyday and very important to pray stay connect to God in your own bubble means only arround your house hold family area in our home. Sometimes I feel like were in a prison but accept for the family fun game. I still enjoy the lock down time cause we also get to watch movies if we finish our duty and school work early.
My dad bought a new fridge so we can have extra stock during the lock down. Now we got two freezers and a refrigerator full of food, also our pantry is absolute packed we are well stocked for the occasion,so we don't have to leave the house, or need to go to the  grocery store very often. Well maybe it's not that boring just for now. we do this to stop the corona virus from jumping from person to person. I know it's scary but I guess it's something we have to face.

One day my family will get it, but hey guess what, there are now 50 people that are recovering from the corona virus so maybe were not that doomed.

Be safe and take care everyone!

Swimming at Cameron Pools

This term I went to Cameron Pools it was amazing we did streamline, dolphin dives, and other stuff.
It was like a journey from smallest to biggest, and one part was when we went in the pool but with life-jackets! We also got to ride a boat in the pool!!! It was like a theme park but with more water!
It was like we were having free time but it last for a pretty long time, but they say it's not for fun it's for learning. So when you're going to the beach and your boat turned up side down don't panic other wise you will drown. What you have to do is to try and float on your back.

Getting to know Ros

The getting to know you form is for people to know what you like, and what you don't like, your family, your talent, and so on so fourth.
so if you or they get what you mean that means that they will know what you like, and don't like they will also know what like to play and what don't, so for example you put in you liked rugby so everyone will know that you like playing rugby.
for my one I put in soccer so now everyone knows I like soccer. so now I can learn about you and you can learn about me.
You are writing about yourself so that everyone knows what you want like dislike and more about you or me or maybe you like something a part of others and mine.I have been enjoying writing about myself and my talent what I like and what I dislike.
